Obituary

Linda Marie Prospero (nee Lingo), age 66, died on May 17, 2017 in San Antonio, TX after a long and brave battle with cancer. She was born in Somers Point, NJ and was the daughter of John and Ruth (Collins) Lingo and the stepdaughter of Haskell Williams. Linda attended Linwood NJ Public Schools and was a graduate of the Mainland Mustangs' Class of 1968. She graduated in 1972 from Hofstra University on Long Island, NY. She spent the majority of her professional career working in many different aspects of the insurance industry at Prudential, and retired as a corporate compliance officer. Linda was a world-class traveler and enjoyed telling tales of the cruises she had taken and the foreign countries she had visited. She delighted in spending time at any beach, but especially loved the beaches in Kuşadasi, Turkey; Sanibel Island, FL and Ocean City, NJ. She could turn any conversation into one which surrounded food, as she spent much of her childhood in her family's famous restaurant, Ben's BAR-B-Q in West Atlantic City, NJ. Linda was predeceased by her husbands, Ted Basile Sr. and Henry J Prospero Jr., and by her beloved brother, Jack Lingo. Linda was the loving mother to son and "daughter", Ted Jr. and Joyce (Barbagallo) Basile. Linda was the adoring Nana to Megan Basile. Linda is also survived by sister-in-law Barbara Lingo, niece Emily Lingo, and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.
